Zoey was saved from a high kill shelter where she landed after being badly mistreated. She was malnourished, heartworm positive and had a severe skin infection, but nothing could break her happy-go-lucky spirit. Now that she is in a foster placement, and has received the medical care, balanced diet, and attention she needs, Zoey is thriving! Her coat is improving every day. She is breezing through heartworm treatment, and soon will be 100% heartworm free. She is also learning all kinds of new commands, while teaching her foster family a few tricks herself! Zoey is the total package, but don’t take our word for it:
Hi there. I’m Zoey. I’m told that I’m a wiggle-butt-marshmallow. I have to admit that’s true. I love everyone and everything, except for cats and squirrels. I promise to keep your yard free of both! I live with two human kids, an 8-year old girl and an 11 year-old boy, and I adore them. I have a 3-year old Boxer brother too, and we get along swell. We love to wrestle, play tug, and chase each other in the yard. He’s not quite as clever as me, but you know, he’s a boxer after all. I know all kinds of commands, like sit, shake, go to my room, go to bed, wait, and release. I am always excited to learn new things, especially if you have treats (anything but carrots . . . blech). I’m crate-trained, house-trained, well-behaved on the leash, and my foster dad says I have impeccable house manners, whatever that means. I do have diabetes, but don’t worry, it’s not the bad kind! I take injections twice a day, and everything is cool. I don’t mind the shots one bit, especially if there is a treat waiting for me afterward! I love to play, go for walks, hike, and ride in the car. If you’re active, I’m active. If you’re not, that’s just fine too. I love snoozing on the couch in front of the TV, in fact, I’m thinking of going pro at it! I have so much love to give. If you’re looking for a best friend, remember my name . . . ZOEY!
