Foster Application

Please keep in mind that we are 100% volunteer-run and foster-based. This means that the only way we can save dogs is by having people like you volunteer to open up their home to our wonderful dogs. It also means that our volunteers process these applications without getting paid and while still working full time/raising young children/fostering/etc, so responses to your application might not be immediate ― although we really try! Thank you SO much for saving a life! ❤

  • The undersigned (hereinafter referred to as “the foster”) hereby agrees to volunteer his or her services to the Alamo City Pit Bull Rescue and Rehabilitation (hereinafter referred to as ACPBRR) – a nonprofit organization. The foster acknowledges and understands the dogs involved in ACPBRR's program may be untrained, unhealthy and/or unfriendly, and ACPBRR makes no representations whatsoever regarding the animal’s temperament, health (including the absence of diseases transmissible to humans or to other animals), ability, attitude, past experiences or trainability.

The foster assumes all risks relating to working with the ACPBRR animals. The volunteer hereby releases ACPBRR, its officers, directors, and volunteers from any and all claims, actions, liabilities, damages, and costs of any kind arising out of volunteering for ACPBRR. If any member of the foster's household or a visitor to the foster's home or in the foster's vehicle makes a claim, the foster will indemnify, defend, and hold ACPBRR and the ACPBRR officers, directors, and volunteers harmless from such claim. The foster understands that if his/her/their foster application is accepted, he/she/they understand that he/she/they will be representing a non-profit organization when doing foster work for ACPBRR.

The foster hereby affirms that he/she/we are not currently under disciplinary action by the American Kennel Club, any national breed club, or any local kennel club, has/have not been convicted of any charges of cruelty, abuse, or neglect of animals, and am/are not engaged in large scale commercial breeding or sale of dogs. I/We agree to abide by the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws of ACPBRR.

Our resident tripawd diamond has been in boarding Our resident tripawd diamond has been in boarding for a few weeks getting tons of enrichment and as of this week, she’s in a foster to adopt situation! She’s been in our program since January after getting hit by two cars so this is just such a happy moment for us.

The #BigGive fundraiser link will be active for another day or so and we’re only $15 away from 50% of our goal reached! Check out the link in our bio 🐶

Hazel was abandoned at a local vet’s office by her former owners after being shot in the chest. She has healed wonderfully, undergone heart worm treatment and will be adoptable as soon as she is spayed. This level of care would not have been possible without attentive fosters and donations.

Please consider supporting ACPBR during the #BigGive and sharing our mission with friends and family!
