Houston’s Story:

Houston was pulled from ACS in an effort to make much needed room for incoming Hurricane Harvey refugees. He has had a rough life and is believed to be a three timer at ACS. This older fella (~7) deserves his very own happy ending.

My name is Houston (aka Bocephus Jones). I was once a rambling man and spent some time in the shelter on more than one occasion. Needless to say, it took me some time to get used to a home and a bed. Those things my foster Mum calls “stairs” were quite scary in the beginning but I have discovered beds, coconut oil, peanut butter and those yummy treats! Now I run up the stairs to my room when I return from a walk. I still possess a gypsy heart and a wanderer’s soul; I sometimes like to lie on the bed in my room and stare out the window. I usually pay little attention to other dogs and generally get along with everyone I meet. Though I sometimes chase my housemate cats, I don’t want to hurt them, I just want to play. I love children! I am happy to let them climb all over me – one of my best friends is a 2-year-old boy. I am learning to walk on a leash. I may pull on my leash when in new environments but once I learn all the sights and smells, I will calmly walk the neighborhood with you. I don’t know my own strength or my size and sometimes have been known to make a mess. I slobber and drool a lot. I love to chat and I sometimes howl. I might even give you a little dance. I especially love to dance and shake my booty when I am getting my dinner (or any food for that matter). I LOVE to eat! I also love to lick faces, shake, sit and wait and CUDDLE—I LOVE to Cuddle!
