Stanley

Stanley’s Story:

Stanley was surrendered by his neglectful owners along with his dad: Georgie, mom: Gina, and litter-mates. He is the runt of the litter and was picked on by his larger siblings. He is learning a lot of stuff in foster and will make his new family very happy!

Hello! My foster mom calls me “Stan the Man Stanley” but you can call me Stanley for short. I had a bit of a rough start in life and was pretty much scared of the world when I was taken in by my rescue. I would tuck my tail and bark at all the scary animals, objects and sounds; I thought they all might hurt me. My foster mom brought me with her to work every day after I arrived and has been working really hard to help build my confidence and teach me important life and social skills. We play fun learning games that help me feel good about all the strange new objects and sounds that I encounter while out and about in the world. I’ve also learned how to be comfortable in a kennel and how to walk on a leash. I love going for car rides now and meeting new people (especially kids, boy do I love kids!) and my foster mom tells me I’m doing really good at learning to potty outside too! I love to play rough with my foster siblings and have even made friends with the resident Cat, we’ve pretty much become besties. I am able to hold my potty all through the night like a big boy and I run straight for the door in the morning to go out. My foster mom lets me sleep with her and the rest of the furry family, I am a professional snuggler and like to sleep as close as possible to her. She says I help keep the monsters away at night, it’s my super power. I have come a long way from where I was when I first met my foster family, but I still have lots of learning to do. My foster mom loves me very much and is committed to making sure I am successful in my future home. She is volunteering her time to help my new family learn how to continue working with me to make sure that I reach my full potential! How cool is that?!
